Moving Eye Candy

today's blog post will feature a couple of animations I have found on the web,
that truly inspire me.

Well done animator friends, your work is magnificent!

Meet Buck

3D meets a 2D feel that is pulled off so nicely, you can't help but LOVE it!

(Even if you are the biggest hater gonna hate of 3D)

Studio Killers - Ode To The Bouncer

Cute, yet sexy character design,
and also a nice integration of the different animation mediums and styles.

Aachi and Ssipak - Awesome Fucker

The animation clip is from a Korean animated movie called
Aachi and Ssipak.
The graphic song by MC Chris, isn't it just catchy?
"Fail to forsee, that MC, is such an awesome f***er.."

I do believe that's enough for now,
hopefully my next post will actually contain some of my own work.
In the meantime, here's one of the latests videos I animated at work.

Go check out Where is my transport?

Ciao people,
until next post!

Girls, girls, girls

Helllllloooo there readers!

It's been a while since I've updated the ol' blog
I still don't have anything of value or newness to post here.

So, some rather oldish - female - art will follow now.

and have a good week.

Also, latest online Blink Tower video:

Is it summer yet?

I can't wait for summer! We keep getting sample bites of it, and then -

The clouds decide to pee all over it.

Old art is old.

At least it's almost Spring time.

Have a super day!

More Old Art

This will always be a personal favourite.
How my drawing style has changed.

This is right after I decided to get out of the horror that is Anime.

Best thing I could have done.

I was still trying to find my stride with the style. Failed.

Maybe one day...

I'll actually get around to finishing a drawing.

It's been too long, I miss drawing.

Which is weird, because I'm currently drawing at work, but it's not the same.
I feel the need to finish up some personal stuff, but when I get home (and I'm done sweating it out at the gym) the last thing I want to do, is switch on the ol' PC and draw.

I guess this is where time management comes in, but where will fun and social activities fit in?

Even though this was a short week, it feels longggg and dragged out.

BUT - Enough of the emoness, on to some good news.

I've received my contract for permanent employment at the Tower, and that feels AMAZING!

I truly love working here, I'm learning so much about the business side of things and the industry. Feels good man, feels good.

Today I'll leave you with some more old art.

A model sheet I drew a while back.

A Crofty Obsession

So, being the uber geek that I am,
I am quite the fan of computer games.

And no game appeals to me more, than the awesomeness that is "Tomb Raider".

What's not to love?

Puzzles, guns that never run out of ammo, a kick-ass female lead, thrills, chills and let's not forget about the random dinosaurs.

(It's always fun killing the T-rex!)

She's so bad-ass!

I've run out of Tomb Raider games to play, what with the new one only being released next year (Yes, I've already pre-ordered it) so now I'm at the point where I'm replaying all the old games.

(They did not age well)

Currently busy with Angel of Darkness, however, I'm finding it hard to actually finish the game. Probably the worst game in the Tomb Raider series.

Even playing The Sims seems more appealing.

I can't wait for the new release!

Speaking of the new game, have you seen the trailer for it? Looks amazing!

Not crazy about the new voice actor

So, I guess I'll go check on my renders now, but I'll leave you with a drawing of Lara I drew sometime last year.

Drawing by Liza K 2010 - 2011

Have an awesome day,

Old art is old...

...but I still love it!

Mike, Mary and Joe: SkullAHHH (c) 2008 - 2011 Liza Kotze

These are some of my brain babies.

I've been plotting and writing and drawing and brainstorming up a story for them since 2008.

The idea was originally intended for a web comic, but now that the plot has actually developed into something substantial, I'm rather keen on animating it.

Notice how my drawing style is constantly changing?

Maybe one day, I'll actually get around to doing it.

* * *

In the pipeline, is this quick pic I'm drawing of some of my original characters, Frank and Ratty.

(Coming up with original names for characters, is not one of my strong points in life)

Still needs some decent line art and colours.

So I'll leave you with this question; what's up with me and giant eyebrows?

'Till next update,

Liza K

..::Just felt like doodling something::..

and more fixing...turns out it's not a quick fix.

Some Detail

The anatomy is so wrong, but it should be a quick fix before doing the line art.
It's just a 4 minute doodle after all.

Needed to do something else besides fixing After Effects Project Files.

Freelancers, what can I say?

Ensight video LIVE!

Hey all!

So, the video I animated for Ensight is up on their website, so I think it's safe to share it here. ;)

Explainer video by Blinktower

Go check it out!

It was quite a fun video to animate. I mean, c'mon, it's got a pterodactyl in it! SQWAAAA!!!

(no, not THAT one!)

On the life side of things, work is still awesome, deadline stress and all. But show me an animator who doesn't have stress, and I'll show you a lazy, probably unemployed animator...who married into family money. (It'll will be the same person as mista No-Stress.)

Gosh darnit! Why couldn't I marry into family money? One day, kiddo, one day. ;)

Also, I've got a Google+ account now, and will probably, slowly but surely, move from Facebook, to G+.

Speaking of social media websites, feel free to follow me on Twitter! I mostly ramble on about nonsense, but for every 50 nonsense tweets, there's 1 that will either make you chuckle, leave you shocked or even make you think.

Deep stuff!

So, I'm signing off, work is waiting.

What's in an update?

So, it's been a while since I've update the old blog, but here you go, fresh out of the oven.

About 2 months ago, I started working at the super awesome company, Blinktower, as an animator.
I can honestly say I LOVE my job, everything is supa fabulous girrrrllllfriend! *finger snaps*

Here's a little video I animated for Dealify. It was the first one I did, was still getting the hang of good ol' After Effects. Amazing software, by the way!

On the drawing front, sheeze, wish I could say I had time to draw, but I don't.

And that's it for now.

Showreel now up

My showreel is now up on the SHOWREEL page.

It's still in the WIP phase, as I am currently busy with some other shots, but I need to get it out there.

Will update it soon enough though, and make it look a hell of a lot better!

WIP Portfolio

A work in progress PDF version of my Portfolio is now available for download.

Head on over to the "Portfolio" tab and tell me what you think? Suggestions and ideas on how to improve it will be greatly appreciated.

More art and storyboards will still be added to it, and some pictures will be scrapped.

Also, please inform me of any spelling or grammatical errors I may have made on my site.
